We encourage you to subscribe as we grow our community from 2009 moving forward. As the first film festival of its kind, we work to empower storytellers as filmmakers using the most accessible device in the world. All humans are eligible.
Launched in 2009 in San Diego county by S. Botello Productions™ (2006). Founder Susy Botello created International Mobile Film Festival as the centerpiece of an organic strategy to expand and support mobile filmmaking as a distinctive art form worldwide.
“The one thing that supersedes the ability to be a contender with some of the best independent films of today, is not the camera. It is the skills and talents of the filmmaker to bring a great story to its audience and master the skills and technical requirements needed in both production and post production to bring their film to the highest level.” Susy Botello, founder and director.
Listen to a special edition, the 100th episode of the SBP Podcast Mobile Filmmaking from June 2021. This episode shares the history of mobile filmmaking with Michael Koerbel, first place winner in our inaugural festival.
