Supporting Mobile Filmmakers

We welcome a new partnership with a new sponsor.

Since 2009, we have prioritized our message of respect for storytellers world-wide by launching a traditional in-person film festival, with an equal arena to compete, that only accepted films shot with mobile phones. We’ve raised the bar many times, including creating a separate competition for only narrative feature films.

All short and feature films selected into the festival are screened in a live in-person presentation.

This weekend, we are proud to bring a new partnership with Zacuto with you in mind.

Zacuto has a few things in common with us and our creator S. Botello Productions™, and it’s not just about their chosen company colors, black and red. Their passion and dedication for storytelling and film has kept them in the game year after year.

Zacuto has been in business about 23 years. The company introduced new concepts into their gear which have since become standard in the industry.

Producer and director Steve Weiss partnered with cinematographer Jens Bogehegn to design their gear, hands-on, with their staff of engineers.

As innovators who are passionate about creating and innovating filmmaking gear for filmmakers and video producers, they have designed a new rig for smartphone filmmakers and small business video producers, the Smart Z-Finder. An industry game-changer.

As a smartphone filmmaker, you can turn stories into films at any level. We continue to bring the amateur and the professional together to inspire and learn from one another. Most importantly, to support and celebrate each others’ accomplishments in the independent film industry that is mobile filmmaking from San Diego to the online world.
